This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design, implement, and sustain enterprise-level cloud cost allocation, governance, and automated remediation systems.
• Develop automated cost estimations, budget constraints, and policy-as-code validation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Create internal tools, microservices, and event-driven automation for the decommissioning of idle resources, instance optimization, anomaly detection, and tag compliance.
• Architect and manage detailed Kubernetes container cost allocation, bin-packing, and autoscaling strategies.
• Construct scalable pipelines and analytical models for cloud billing data utilizing SQL and cloud data platforms.
• Model, automate, and oversee enterprise commitment lifecycles, including Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and Committed Use Discounts.
• Develop resilient architectures for Spot and preemptible workloads.
• Establish telemetry that connects infrastructure consumption metrics to business KPIs.
• Lead regular technical cost architecture reviews and offer optimization suggestions.
• Mentor DevOps, SRE, and software engineers on financial engineering and sustainable cloud architecture.
• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure Architecture within high-scale enterprise settings.
• At least 3 years of focused technical experience in implementing FinOps practices, cloud economic modeling, and automated cloud cost optimization.
• Advanced hands-on experience with at least one leading public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), covering multi-account organization structures, networking, IAM, and enterprise billing APIs.
• Extensive production experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration tools, such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Advanced skills in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Go, Bash, or TypeScript.
• Production experience in integrating automated checks, linters, and policy-as-code into contemporary CI/CD ecosystems like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE, resource management, and container cost visibility tools.
• Familiarity with cloud rate optimization tools, discount modeling, and enterprise commitment management.
• Strong SQL querying and data modeling abilities with experience in analyzing large-scale billing datasets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Preferred: Active FinOps certifications and advanced cloud provider certifications.
• Preferred: Experience with billing-data pipelines and analytical layers using dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks and FOCUS.
• Preferred: Experience with third-party cloud financial management platforms.
• Preferred: Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and storage tiering optimization.
