Senior DevOps Engineer – Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain a highly available and cost-effective cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes (AKS).

• Oversee production-grade AKS clusters, focusing on private networking, node pools, autoscaling, workload identity, ingress, certificates, and cluster upgrades.

• Manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, including the creation of reusable modules, state management, workspaces, and deployments across multiple environments.

• Create and oversee advanced CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure and efficient application delivery from development to production.

• Implement monitoring and observability solutions across Kubernetes, applications, and Azure services.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate infrastructure, networking, identity, and production challenges.

• Enforce cloud security best practices, such as vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, and centralized secrets management.

• Develop and maintain multi-region high availability and disaster recovery strategies, including failover and failback processes.

• Work in close collaboration with application engineering teams to set and enhance operational standards.

• Assist in cloud migration efforts, including transferring workloads between Azure and Google Cloud.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, deploy, monitor, secure, and manage scalable cloud environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a DevOps Engineering position with a strong focus on Azure.

• Practical experience in designing and implementing large-scale Azure solutions.

• Demonstrated production experience with AKS, including private clusters, upgrades, autoscaling, and incident management.

• Advanced Terraform experience at the production level.

• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues and the ability to design reliable solutions.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and contemporary DevOps methodologies.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Proficiency in English at a B2+ / Upper-Intermediate level or above.

• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are advantageous.

• Technical expertise in Azure components: Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identities, Workload Identity, Key Vault, VNets, Subnets, Private Endpoints, Private DNS.

• Technical knowledge of Kubernetes technologies: AKS, Helm, Docker, container registries, microservices.

• Expertise in Terraform.

• Experience with Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Flux, or similar tools.

• Proficient in scripting with PowerShell, Bash, and Python; familiarity with Go, C#/.NET, or Node.js is a plus.

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar.

• Understanding of VPNs, firewalls, hybrid connectivity, and network security.

• Knowledge of Azure SQL Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, Redis, Storage, and Functions.

• Experience with observability tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL, Datadog, Grafana, or similar.

• Familiarity with cloud security principles, including penetration testing, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.

• Experience with GCP/GKE, cross-cloud networking and identity, or cloud migration is a significant advantage.
