This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead the deployment architecture that enhances platform maturity.
• Streamline daily delivery operations across the on-premise infrastructure.
• Serve as the primary engineering stakeholder in the design, configuration, and implementation of the Kubernetes platform.
• Leverage and contribute to Ansible-based deployment automation for product feature rollouts.
• Adhere to established TechOps peer-review protocols.
• Oversee application-level health monitoring within the cluster.
• Collaborate with TechOps on incident management and conduct post-mortem analyses for engineering-driven deployments.
• Maintain comprehensive deployment documentation, runbooks, and self-service guides for developers.
• Develop Kubernetes self-service workflows, guardrails, standards, and requirements for key components such as Gateway API, RBAC, admission controllers, and resource policies.
• Standardize ingress, RBAC, namespacing strategies, and secrets management within namespaces.
• Work alongside engineering teams to containerize and transition workloads to Kubernetes.
• Create CI/CD workflows for Kubernetes deployments utilizing Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, or comparable tools.
• Implement application-level metrics, logging, and alerting within namespaces.
• Produce deployment runbooks, manifest templates, and best-practice documentation.
• Strong, demonstrable experience with Ansible, encompassing roles, inventories, vault, and idempotency.
• Proficient with Docker and Docker Compose in production settings.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Alertmanager or their equivalents.
• Ability to think innovatively within constraints and plan effectively.
• Methodical and security-aware approach.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Helm chart creation and management (nice-to-have).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform (nice-to-have).
• Experience with secrets management tools such as HashiCorp Vault, Sealed Secrets, or External Secrets Operator (nice-to-have).
• Previous experience balancing greenfield projects with business-as-usual responsibilities (nice-to-have).
