This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software applications utilizing modern frameworks and programming languages.
• Architect, construct, and maintain both relational and non-relational databases to ensure application performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect, DevOps Engineer, and Data Scientists.
• Create and implement data models, schemas, stored procedures, and strategies for database migration.
• Monitor and optimize database performance for speed, availability, and scalability.
• Apply best practices in data security, including encryption, access control, and compliance with federal security regulations.
• Integrate database modifications into CI/CD pipelines alongside the Azure DevOps Engineer.
• Support data pipelines and structures for AI and machine learning initiatives.
• Engage in peer reviews of code and database designs.
• Document database architectures, data flows, and application code.
• Contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other agile activities.
• Assist a Federal client's business and IT modernization project by developing an AI-enabled application from the ground up.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust / DOI Public Trust Moderate Clearance.
• Proficient in React, Angular, Vue.js, .NET Core, Node.js, C#, and Entity Framework.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, including stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, or other cloud-based database platforms.
• Knowledge of NoSQL database solutions.
• Experience with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS).
• Understanding of Azure Cognitive Services and Azure Cognitive Search.
• Familiarity with requirements for AI and machine learning data pipelines.
• Experience in implementing multi-factor authentication and secure application design.
• Solid understanding of data security and compliance standards in a federal setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Exceptional attendance record and availability to work outside normal business hours as necessary.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 7 years of overall IT/software development experience.
• More than 5 years of hands-on application development experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in database engineering and architecture.
• A minimum of 3 years of cloud-based development experience, preferably in Azure.
• Over 2 years of experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• More than 2 years of experience in CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Strong knowledge of the complete SDLC utilizing Agile principles.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud technologies and architectures, ideally Azure.
• Experience in the design, development, and deployment of application software at scale.
• Familiarity with CMMI is a plus.
