Senior Deployment Manager – Datacenter and Network Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main coordination hub among network customer/stakeholder teams, Network Automation, Network Architecture, and Network Engineering teams.

• Collaborate with Network Architecture and Engineering to comprehend approved designs, clarify deployment requirements, and ensure alignment on technical standards.

• Partner with Network Automation to manage provisioning workflows, relay deployment requirements to Architecture/Engineering, and stakeholder teams.

• Identify and advocate for deployment team feature requests aimed at enhancing tooling with the Network Automation team.

• Oversee logical datacenter deployment activities, which include updates to the source of truth, configuration generation, orchestration, and automated validation.

• Enhance deployment predictability and quality by providing feedback to Network Automation, Architecture, and Engineering teams while monitoring agreed-upon process and tooling enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 9 years of relevant experience in infrastructure deployment, network engineering, datacenter operations, or technical program management.

• At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience managing teams or complex technical programs.

• Profound networking expertise spanning backbone and datacenter edge layers, including MPLS, RSVP-TE, routing protocols, traffic engineering, and resilient network design.

• Strong understanding of datacenter network architecture, encompassing leaf-spine topologies, routing and switching, IP addressing, segmentation, redundancy, and management networks.

• Practical knowledge of ZTP mechanisms and their dependencies, such as DHCP, DNS, bootstrapping, image and configuration services, device onboarding, and provisioning failure recovery.

• Hands-on experience with logical datacenter build tools and workflows used for managing the source of truth, inventory modeling, configuration generation, orchestration, and automated validation.

• Proven ability to collaborate closely with network automation, architecture, and engineering teams to transform technical requirements into coordinated deployment activities.

• Capacity to interpret architecture diagrams, deployment plans, provisioning logs, and validation results to pinpoint dependencies and facilitate issue resolution.

• Experience in managing schedules, technical risks, change coordination, and readiness tracking across multiple teams and locations.

• Familiarity with deployment pipelines, APIs, CMDBs, and asset inventory systems.

• Excellent technical communication and organizational skills, with the capability to drive decisions and relay deployment status to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Experience in supporting large-scale AI, GPU, HPC, or cloud datacenter deployments.

• Familiarity with Ethernet fabrics, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, or InfiniBand environments.

• Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform, alongside Python or API-based workflows.

• A history of enhancing deployment coordination, minimizing delays, and assisting teams in resolving recurring provisioning and build challenges.

• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to influence across Network Automation, Network Architecture, Network Engineering, Operations, and Support.
