Senior Demand Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the unconstrained demand plan within the designated portfolio, covering short-, mid-, and long-term planning horizons.

• Facilitate the monthly demand review process, ensuring alignment among Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, and Operations for a unified forecast.

• Evaluate historical demand, orders, customer behavior, market trends, promotions, product lifecycle events, and commercial intelligence.

• Assess and relay forecast performance using metrics such as accuracy, bias, value-add, and exceptions.

• Identify root causes of forecast discrepancies and organize corrective measures.

• Create demand scenarios and conduct sensitivity analyses for strategic business decisions, financial forecasts, capacity planning, inventory strategies, and supply-risk mitigation.

• Collaborate with Supply Planning and Operations to convey demand changes, priorities, timing, and uncertainties.

• Resolve conflicting inputs and promote fact-based decision-making.

• Assist with new product launches, product modifications, geographic expansion, promotions, discontinuations, and other lifecycle events.

• Maintain demand-planning parameters, product hierarchies, master data inputs, calendars, historical adjustments, and documented assumptions.

• Generate executive-ready summaries detailing forecast outlooks, changes, trends, risks, opportunities, scenarios, and necessary decisions.

• Conduct root-cause analysis for significant forecast misses and enhance demand-planning processes, data quality, governance, tools, and operational methods.

• Mentor planning partners and contribute to analytical methods, templates, forecast segmentation, exception management, and best practices.

• Operate in compliance with quality, regulatory, and company standards; escalate risks impacting customers or patients.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, sales and operations planning, integrated business planning, commercial analytics, or similar supply chain roles.

• Proven experience managing demand forecasts for diverse products, customers, geographies, channels, or lifecycle stages.

• Demonstrated ability in leading consensus demand reviews, resolving conflicting inputs, and influencing cross-functional decisions.

• Familiarity with statistical forecasting, forecast-performance analysis, scenario modeling, and providing executive-level decision support.

• Proficient in ERP, advanced planning, demand-planning, business-intelligence, and data-analysis tools.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is highly preferred.

• Experience in a regulated environment such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or other quality-controlled sectors is preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of demand planning, statistical forecasting, forecast segmentation, consensus planning, and product lifecycle management.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including trend analysis, seasonality, outlier treatment, scenario modeling, root-cause analysis, and exception management.

• Understanding of forecast accuracy, bias, forecast value add, demand variability, service, inventory, capacity, and financial-planning relationships.

• Ability to differentiate between unconstrained demand and supply-constrained outcomes, communicating the implications effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills in a matrixed environment.

• High attention to detail, ownership, prioritization, and follow-through.

• A mindset focused on continuous improvement.

• Capability to navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and incomplete information while maintaining sound judgment and a patient-first perspective.
