Lead, Supply Chain Management – Functional Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary process owner and functional authority for supply chain execution, procurement, inventory, and warehousing systems within Mars Snacking Accelerator.

• Guide the SCM capability roadmap.

• Directly manage the SCM/SCP Functional Analyst.

• Hold responsibility for Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Advanced Warehouse Management (EWM/AWM), batch/FEFO traceability, and integration with 3PL logistics.

• Collaborate with leaders in Procurement, Logistics, and Plant Warehousing to translate operational objectives into ERP capabilities.

• Design comprehensive P2P workflows, encompassing purchase orders, subcontracting/co-manufacturing, and automated 3-way invoice matching.

• Promote a standard-first “Clean Core” architecture.

• Lead functional design efforts for inventory management and advanced warehousing, including inbound staging, putaway, wave picking, cycle counting, and physical inventory.

• Manage functional integration between SAP S/4HANA and external 3PL warehouse and carrier platforms.

• Oversee logistics EDI/B2B transaction flows.

• Implement SAP batch management rules, FEFO picking logic, and shelf-life tracking to ensure audit-ready lot traceability.

• Mentor and supervise the SCM/SCP Functional Analyst.

• Align analyst and partner resources to initiatives based on project complexity and individual strengths.

• Execute projects utilizing SAP Activate, SAP Cloud ALM, Jira, Monday.com, and Smartsheet.

• Champion the adoption of AI agents and SAP Situation Handling to address supply chain exceptions.

• Lead bi-annual cloud regression testing.

• Manage AMS support vendors in accordance with SLA/KPI metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of progressive experience in enterprise ERP, focusing on Supply Chain Management (SCM), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Warehouse Management.

• Proven experience in mentoring and leading functional analysts.

• Extensive practical experience in architecting, delivering, and managing SAP S/4HANA enterprise solutions.

• Comprehensive functional expertise in operational purchasing, subcontracting, 3-way matching, and Advanced/Extended Warehouse Management (EWM/AWM/IM).

• Demonstrated ability to integrate SAP ERP with external 3PL WMS/TMS partners.

• Experienced in governing logistics EDI message sets (943, 944, 940, 945, 947, 846).

• At least 5 years of experience in CPG or Food & Beverage sectors.

• Knowledgeable in batch management, FEFO shelf-life allocation, co-manufacturing, cold chain processes, and lot traceability.

• Hands-on experience with SAP Activate, SAP Cloud ALM (CALM), Jira, Monday.com, or Smartsheet.

• Familiarity with AI agent and Situation Handling exception automation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
