Senior Decision Scientist, Core Experiences

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a strategic collaborator for cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketing, and finance.

• Comprehend roadmaps and user needs, identifying discrepancies between data and team assumptions.

• Deliver clear narratives and perspectives to leadership and operational teams.

• Establish causality through A/B testing, analytics, and causal inference methods.

• Collaborate with engineering on event instrumentation and work with Product to convert insights into actionable steps.

• Create and execute metrics strategies that align with users’ product experiences and business requirements.

• Construct explanations that link user behavior to underlying motivations.

• Utilize coding agents and automated analysis on a daily basis to enhance impact.

• Contribute to the evolution of Life360’s AI-driven analytics framework, transitioning from reactive to proactive and eventually autonomous analytics.

• Report directly to the Data & Analytics leadership team and work alongside data engineers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in analytics, data science, or decision science within a consumer technology organization.

• An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (such as economics, statistics, quantitative social science, or operations research) or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience with causal inference techniques in practical applications, including difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, regression discontinuity, synthetic controls, and propensity score matching.

• A history of influencing product or business strategy through data, with concrete examples of cross-functional impact.

• Familiarity with experimentation platforms like Statsig, Optimizely, or similar tools.

• Strong skills in SQL and Python/R for statistical analysis.

• A problem-solving mindset: capable of structuring ambiguous problems accurately before utilizing tools, whether AI or otherwise.

• A sense of ownership from framing the question to delivering recommendations and assessing their impact.

• An AI-native working approach using tools such as Claude Code or equivalents as a true development partner.

• A genuine curiosity and initiative regarding how the product enhances users' lives in meaningful ways.
