This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Turkey.
• Design, upgrade, architect, and construct scalable infrastructure solutions utilizing Kubernetes, AWS, RDS (MySQL/Postgres), and contemporary distributed patterns.
• Contribute to the infrastructure team’s roadmap aimed at enhancing reliability, recoverability, and scalability.
• Oversee capacity planning and benchmarking; conduct stress tests on systems, pinpoint bottlenecks, and prepare for business expansion.
• Define, uphold, and enforce SLAs and infrastructure alerts.
• Guide teams towards improved anomaly detection signals and more adaptable alerting mechanisms.
• Spearhead Sezzle’s AI enablement initiatives by integrating AI and automation into infrastructure reliability, developer productivity, and internal tools.
• Develop consistency and scalability across a distributed microservices architecture while ensuring performance and reliability.
• Establish and advance engineering best practices in observability, security, and CI/CD.
• Mentor engineers and promote learning, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate across departments to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and achieve results.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software or infrastructure engineering, with substantial SRE and backend expertise.
• Recently deployed significant changes to a production application or infrastructure configuration within the last 30 days.
• Strong expertise in Golang.
• Experience in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Proficient with SQL-based RDBMS, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience in optimizing schemas and queries for performance at scale.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Understanding of distributed systems design patterns, such as transactional outbox, event-driven architecture, stream processing, and queues.
• Ability to propose new ideas, impact decisions, and lead complex technical initiatives.
• Proven experience with Claude or similar large language model tools is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Availability for consistent work from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, AWS Aurora RDS, data engineering, data pipelines, data warehousing, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes containerized microservices, AI developer tooling, commercial APIs, data-driven applications, technical leadership, and scaling high-traffic services.
