Senior SRE Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Primarily serve as an AWS Cloud Database Administrator (DBA)

• Manage Amazon RDS for SQL Server, Aurora, and DynamoDB environments

• Ensure the availability, performance, security, and advancement of data environments

• Implement SRE, DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to enhance scalability and operational efficiency

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a DBA managing AWS environments

• Extensive experience with Amazon RDS for SQL Server, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB

• Proven track record in administering, supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing databases in mission-critical settings

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL data modeling

• Advanced understanding of high availability and disaster recovery methods, including Always On, Multi-AZ, read replicas, failover, and contingency strategies

• Experience with backup, restoration, snapshots, replication, and data recovery in distributed systems

• Strong background in performance tuning, query analysis, indexing, partitioning, and optimizing SQL and NoSQL workloads

• Skilled in monitoring and observing databases using CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and similar tools

• Knowledge of AWS Backup, retention policies, compliance, and data governance

• In-depth expertise in DynamoDB, covering Global Tables, DynamoDB Streams, partitioning strategies, and performance-oriented modeling

• Advanced proficiency with database-dedicated EC2 instances and management of AWS resources related to the data layer

• Understanding of SRE practices as they apply to the data layer

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation

• Ability to automate administrative tasks through Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation of database-related deployments

• Knowledge of Git and GitHub for version control and change management

• Understanding of .NET and Node.js applications to assist with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and database integration
