Senior Database Management Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer specialized technical expertise and assistance in the utilization of database management systems.

• Assess and suggest DBMS products to fulfill validated user needs.

• Establish file organization, indexing techniques, and security protocols for user applications.

• Design, implement, and upkeep database backup and recovery processes.

• Guarantee data integrity, security, and recoverability within DBMS applications.

• Facilitate Oracle application database implementations in both physical and cloud settings.

• Import schemas, scripts, and data into Oracle or Microsoft SQL databases.

• Create and adjust tables, views, and indexes to resolve issues for application developers.

• Manage and oversee database user access; register users and uphold system security.

• Generate monthly Oracle AWR reports, analyze outcomes, and propose database enhancements.

• Aid in performance tuning and troubleshooting of Oracle application database challenges.

• Provide consulting and share knowledge on database requirements for both new and ongoing projects.

• Assist application teams in collaborating with the J64 DBA infrastructure team.

• Investigate, document, and address application STIG findings.

• Diagnose and resolve database issues.

• Support the upgrades of Oracle to subsequently approved versions.

⛳️ Requirements

• IT-II security clearance is required, or a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).

• Basic Federal Clearance prerequisites include U.S. Citizenship, a clean criminal history check, and no recent or pending bankruptcies.

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.

• Capability to generate Automated Workload Repository (AWR) reports.

• Must hold a Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate certification.

• Experience in DBMS system analysis and programming.

• Proficient in utilizing current DBMS technologies and application design with various database management systems.

• Familiarity with DBMS internals.

• Strong technical expertise and support in the application of DBMS.

• Knowledgeable in Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.

• Understanding of database backup and recovery methods.

• Awareness of database security, user access management, and system security.

• Knowledge of Oracle Automated Workload Repository (AWR) reports and database performance optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with Oracle database technology, performance tuning, and troubleshooting methods.

• Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) findings and their remediation.
