Senior Data Steward

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee metadata requests while ensuring the upkeep of data documentation and catalog information.

• Serve as a business and governance analyst for initiatives related to data.

• Collaborate with data owners and business stakeholders to establish and record data ownership and accountability.

• Ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, and best practices.

• Detect data-related issues and facilitate their resolution through the appropriate governance channels.

• Analyze datasets and develop fundamental data quality checks and controls.

• Assist with data-related inquiries and advocate for data usability and trust throughout the organization.

• Work alongside technical and business teams to enhance data governance processes and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, or Data Management positions.

• Strong knowledge of Data Governance frameworks and methodologies.

• In-depth understanding of metadata management.

• Comprehensive grasp of Data Quality principles and controls.

• Solid understanding of data ownership and data lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with data contracts and governance policies.

• Basic knowledge of Data Engineering concepts, including data ingestion processes and ETL/ELT.

• Experience or familiarity with Databricks environments.

• Understanding of programming logic and foundational knowledge of Python.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in English.

• A strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to navigate complex enterprise environments and collaborate across multiple teams.

• A collaborative mindset with notable adaptability and resilience.

• Ability to convert business requirements into governance processes and standards.

• Experience with data catalog and metadata management tools is a plus.

• Experience in implementing or supporting Data Quality initiatives is a plus.

• Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms and governance solutions is a plus.

• Experience working in global and cross-functional settings is a plus.
