Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Utilize data analysis, visualization, and modeling tools (e.g., Looker, Jupyter Notebooks, Python, Pandas) to support data-driven business strategies, particularly in cost prediction for a two-sided marketplace.

• Design and implement data science initiatives, including hypothesis formulation, statistical analysis, and experimentation such as A/B testing.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into data science solutions that align with Xometry’s goals.

• Evaluate algorithms for accuracy and performance, suggest optimizations, and update production code as needed.

• Extract and query data from databases such as Snowflake and MongoDB for analysis and model development.

• Apply data science techniques that prioritize code reproducibility, version control, and model deployment.

• Enhance and refine solutions in a dynamic, agile environment.

• Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ongoing learning within the team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is mandatory; an advanced degree (M.S. or PhD) in applied mathematics, computer science, data science, engineering, or a related discipline is highly desirable.

• Over 5 years of experience in data science is required.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (preferably with numpy, scipy, pandas, and scikit-learn) and experience with API integrations using Python.

• Solid understanding of applied statistics, including probability distributions, confidence intervals, statistical tests (e.g., t-tests, ANOVA, Chi-Square), and power analysis.

• Experience with pricing algorithms and technology-driven product development.

• Familiarity with scientific software principles, including version control, code reproducibility, and deployment practices.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and effectively manage changing priorities.

• Must be available to work during core hours aligned with US Eastern Time (GMT-5).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
