Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of sales forecasting and promote data-driven decision-making throughout the sales organization.

• Evaluate sales trends to identify opportunities.

• Construct models that forecast sales across various product lines and regions over different time frames.

• Transform forecasts into strategic recommendations for revenue generation and planning.

• Create statistical and machine learning models across various business areas.

• Contribute to the development of self-service analytics and data tools.

• Manage the complete machine learning lifecycle: from scoping and feature engineering to model training, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ensuring explainability.

• Convert model outputs into practical recommendations for business leaders.

• Determine the key drivers that influence the sales forecast and their impact.

• Guide and mentor junior data scientists.

• Facilitate technical design reviews and learning sessions.

• Assist in shaping the team’s roadmap and setting standards.

• Report directly to the Data Science Manager.

• Collaborate within a scrum team alongside Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts, delivering data products from start to finish.

• Engage in decision-making processes related to the data stack, including source-data modeling and solutions tailored for the sales team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data science role, with at least 3 years focused on sales forecasting, demand forecasting, or revenue analytics; a graduate degree in a quantitative field may account for 2 of the 5 years.

• Proficient in Python or R for conducting data analysis tasks.

• In-depth knowledge of time series forecasting techniques, including ARIMA, Prophet, and LSTM.

• Skilled in SQL for data analysis purposes.

• Proficient in training and evaluating machine learning models using tools such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, tidymodels, and XGBoost.

• A proven history of developing and implementing machine learning pipelines in production environments like AWS SageMaker, Databricks, or Snowflake.

• Demonstrated experience applying software development methodologies and protocols, including version control and testing.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly when engaging with non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven ability to lead self-directed projects and collaborate effectively across functions.

• Experience in mentoring other data scientists or leading technical discussions.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• A background check is required upon selection for employment.

• Willingness to travel to the headquarters in New York for in-person onboarding or periodically during employment as necessary.
