Senior Data Scientist, Business Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Define, monitor, and report on essential metrics that gauge Thumbtack’s success.

• Lead the analysis and reporting of business performance for executive leadership.

• Conduct comprehensive analyses that inform future strategic directions.

• Support and enhance the company’s revenue forecasting model and overall forecasting and planning process.

• Develop and maintain dashboards and self-service tools.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and leadership to convert insights into actionable strategies.

• Foster a strong data culture through peer collaboration, review, training, and mentoring.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in a highly analytical role, preferably in the technology sector; experience in a marketplace or two-sided platform business is advantageous.

• Proficient in SQL and Python or R for analyzing large datasets.

• Strong foundation in statistics.

• Excellent business judgment with the ability to navigate through ambiguity.

• Capability to synthesize insights derived from analysis.

• Experience collaborating with executives to comprehend business needs and influence decision-making.

• Exceptional communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience utilizing AI to automate workflows and facilitate self-service analytics.

• Familiarity with revenue modeling and forecasting, ideally in a high-growth or publicly traded company environment.
