Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the creation of statistical and machine learning models for the FALCON initiative.

• Develop models to identify kinematic behaviors using both live and historical datasets.

• Design and execute simulations to guide system analytics methodologies.

• Provide support for mission-critical software applications, backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, and analytical functionalities.

• Build and enhance software applications.

• Maintain and upgrade existing custom applications.

• Diagnose defects and optimize performance.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.

• Lead teams in developing analytic solutions tailored to customer requirements.

• Improve analytic solutions focusing on quality and performance.

• Integrate data from diverse sources to establish a unified operational view.

• Choose and apply statistical analyses and scoring metrics to assess algorithm efficacy.

• Generate training and testing datasets.

• Conduct data cleansing, validation, and ETL processes.

• Create analytical reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Implement data visualization for analysis, presentations, and end-user UI requirements.

• Execute feature engineering, classifier optimization, event forecasting, and anomaly detection.

• Collaborate with external stakeholders to articulate data science mission needs.

• Document data science methodologies, outcomes, and strategies.

• Select and deploy machine learning algorithms to improve or compete with existing solutions.

• Work alongside software engineers, data scientists, analysts, and customer stakeholders in an agile, remote-first setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Current Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, with 5+ years of industry experience in data science; or a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.

• Over 7 years of professional experience applying machine learning techniques to time series and/or geospatial data.

• More than 7 years of experience with PostgreSQL, HDFS, or similar database/data file systems.

• At least 7 years of experience with version control systems like Git.

• Over 7 years of experience in time series event forecasting.

• Proficient in Python, pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and scipy.

• Experience in processing, cleaning, and analyzing time series and/or geospatial data.

• Strong foundation in statistical testing, regression, and probability.

• Ability to correlate data from various sensors into a cohesive track.

• Capacity to comprehend and integrate new machine learning algorithms and technologies.

• Experience in scoring and evaluating algorithm performance.

• Skilled in visualizing multi-source, multi-dimensional data and analytic outcomes.

• Experience in conducting model feasibility studies and developing machine learning algorithms.

• Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively.

• Extensive experience with diverse machine learning algorithms and methodologies.

• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and the ability to clearly and confidently articulate these trends and their implications.

• Experience in Agile Scrum or Kanban teams.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Preferred: PhD.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with deep learning technologies like PyTorch, Keras, and TensorFlow.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with radar data.
