This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.
• Gather data and utilize data science methodologies, such as data wrangling, profiling, visualization, and statistical inference.
• Identify actionable insights and create analytical solutions that support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Design, maintain, and improve AML/CTF models and AI solutions.
• Assist in customer rating, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, emerging risk assessment, model performance evaluation, analytics, and reporting efforts.
• Grasp the business context and data architecture, translating business challenges into effective data science solutions.
• Extract and prepare data, apply statistical methods and advanced analytics, and derive insights from large datasets.
• Visualize insights and convey results clearly to decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data and business analysts, software engineers, data engineers, and application developers to implement scalable data science solutions.
• Enhance business processes through insights, hypothesis testing, and statistical validation.
• Educate the organization about data science principles and mathematical foundations.
• Engage in cross-functional and enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert.
• Monitor service, productivity, efficiency, risk, and governance issues, implementing remediation or continuous improvement plans.
• Cultivate relationships with business lines, corporate functions, control functions, and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to team development, knowledge sharing, mentorship, and cross-training.
• Undertake occasional domestic travel and engage in continuous sedentary, multitasking, office-equipment, concentration, reading, writing, and arithmetic activities.
• Candidates must be either U.S. citizens or U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders).
• Must not require current or future TD sponsorship.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or higher education and research tenure may be considered.
• An undergraduate degree or an advanced technical degree is preferred.
• A graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL coding is required.
• Practical experience with advanced quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning is necessary.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present analytical results to both technical and non-technical audiences are essential.
• Experience with LLM prompt engineering and performance evaluation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with financial crime, anti-money laundering, sanctions screening, watchlist screening, or compliance risk analytics is a plus.
• Understanding of Responsible AI and model governance is beneficial.
