Senior Data Scientist, Business Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Define, oversee, and report on essential metrics that gauge Thumbtack’s success.

• Lead the analysis and reporting of business performance to identify emerging risks and opportunities for leadership.

• Conduct in-depth analyses that address critical questions related to Thumbtack’s future strategy.

• Support and enhance the company's revenue forecasting model alongside the broader forecasting and planning process.

• Create and maintain dashboards and self-service tools utilized across the organization.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and leadership to turn insights into actionable strategies.

• Foster a strong data culture through peer collaboration, review, training, and coaching initiatives.

• Present performance updates to the Board and assist in the development of company strategy and objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in a highly analytical position, ideally within the tech sector.

• Experience in a marketplace or two-sided platform business is advantageous.

• Proficient in SQL and Python or R for analyzing large datasets.

• Strong foundation in statistics.

• Excellent business judgment with the ability to navigate uncertainty.

• Capability to distill insights from analyses.

• Experience collaborating with executives to comprehend business needs and influence decisions.

• Strong communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience utilizing AI to automate workflows and facilitate self-service analytics.

• Familiarity with revenue modeling and forecasting, preferably in a high-growth or public company setting.
