Senior Data Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the discovery, strategy, and delivery of data products within Voya Financial's Retail Wealth Management sector.

• Act as the voice of the customer, converting business needs into technical specifications.

• Define, prioritize, and implement the product roadmap in collaboration with business stakeholders.

• Communicate the technology vision and strategy in alignment with business goals and technical solutions.

• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design and execute data solutions.

• Assess product and solution success through analytics and performance metrics.

• Transform business requirements into technical features, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.

• Oversee and prioritize the product backlog for business value, as well as sprint and program increment planning.

• Facilitate effective communication between business partners and engineering teams.

• Assist development teams with data specifications, clarification of requirements, and domain knowledge.

• Deliver and encourage the adoption of data products and solutions throughout the business.

• Foster partnerships among business and technology teams.

• Mentor and advise junior product owners and members of the product team.

• Create business narratives and presentations to secure stakeholder and leadership support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• 10+ years of experience in technology, business analysis, or related disciplines.

• 5+ years of product ownership, product management, or data product experience with increasing responsibilities.

• Experience serving as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum software development environment.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

• Practical experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.

• Strong SQL and data querying capabilities.

• Familiarity with data management and data modeling principles.

• Experience in defining product strategies, product roadmaps, and measurable objectives, such as OKRs.

• Strong business analysis and requirements management skills, encompassing requirements elicitation, documentation, analysis, and prioritization.

• Experience in managing multiple priorities, competing stakeholder demands, and evolving business needs.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to adapt to change, promote collaboration, and establish effective partnerships across teams.
