
Senior Data Engineer, Reporting – Python, SQL, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Construct and uphold data pipelines and reporting services that cater to a global merchant network.
• Create financial, payment, settlement, and transaction reports.
• Modify and enhance existing reports in response to merchant inquiries.
• Manage various priorities and tight deadlines effectively.
• Contribute to the development of a self-service Reporting API that empowers merchants to create reports independently.
• Assume responsibility for assigned tasks, identify obstacles early, and drive projects to completion.
• Participate in on-call rotations approximately every four weeks and address production incidents as they arise.
• Proactively communicate progress, risks, and challenges.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude, into development processes and automated reviews of pull requests.
• Utilize Java and Python for backend development as required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering and/or reporting, providing production-grade data solutions.
• Strong practical experience with Python and SQL, including data pipelines, reporting solutions, and data workflows.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services in production settings, ideally including Redshift.
• Capability to work independently and manage tasks from initial requirements to delivery.
• Strong ownership and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in managing multiple simultaneous priorities.
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams across various locations and time zones.
• Familiarity with data where accuracy, consistency, and traceability are essential.
• Comfort with rotating on-call duties approximately once every four weeks.
• Experience with integrating AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar technologies.
• Advanced level of English required for interaction with US clients.
• Java backend development experience is a significant advantage.
• Experience in financial, payment, settlement, or transaction reporting data is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and contemporary software development practices is preferred.
• Experience with Tabit is a nice-to-have.
