Senior Data Engineer – Integration Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the discovery and integration of data sources authorized by the Government

• Set up and manage automated ETL/ELT pipelines on Government-furnished platforms according to a schedule

• Create source-to-target mappings, transformation specifications, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, schema change controls, and architectural documents

• Develop reusable data models and ingestion standards for the Flying Hours Project and upcoming workloads

• Design modular, air-gapped-ready data pipelines along with technical artifacts

• Execute data validation, profiling, cleansing, integrity checks, exception handling, and reconciliation processes

• Conduct root-cause analysis and address data mapping, refresh, transformation, and performance challenges

• Work alongside the Power BI Developer / Data Analyst on curated datasets, semantic model inputs, refresh schedules, and business rules

• Create or assist in automated UAT scripts and release validation

• Oversee the execution of pipelines, ensuring data freshness, quality, query performance, and managing system dependencies

• Provide technical insights for monthly status updates and dashboard metrics reporting

• Maintain code, configuration, documentation, and technical artifacts in Government-designated repositories

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint reviews, backlog refinement, technical working sessions, and approved on-site integration or knowledge-transfer events

• Protect CUI and Government-furnished equipment by utilizing only approved connectivity and tools

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory

• Must be able to complete a Tier 1 background investigation

• Required to obtain and maintain CAC and necessary logical access within 15 calendar days of contract commencement

• Capable of managing CUI in Government-authorized environments

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, software engineering, or a similar technical field; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, data integration, database/data architecture, analytics engineering, or similar technical roles

• Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining automated and scheduled ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate various enterprise data sources

• Familiarity with data modeling, relational and/or analytical database design, source-to-target mapping, data lineage, data quality, data reconciliation, and performance tuning

• Proficient in SQL and at least one enterprise data integration, transformation, orchestration, or pipeline development toolset

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments with version control, testing, documentation, and iterative release practices

• Ability to clearly communicate technical dependencies, data quality issues, integration risks, and solution alternatives to Government stakeholders and non-technical users
