Senior Data Engineer, Databricks, Python, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain data pipelines and curated datasets within the Databricks Unity Catalog.

• Formulate and document Metric Views that define essential business metrics, including schedules, on-time performance, bookings, and pricing.

• Set up and optimize domain-specific Genie Agents for conversational analytics.

• Play a role in the multi-agent orchestration architecture, particularly within the Supervisor Agent layer.

• Execute MLflow tracing and evaluation to assess agent performance and manage versioning.

• Assist in integrating the intelligence layer with external AI tools through the MCP Server.

• Work collaboratively with data and product teams to transform business inquiries into governed, reusable data definitions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Databricks (essential).

• At least 4 years of pertinent experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.

• Strong understanding of data modeling, Delta Tables, Metric Views, and Genie Agents.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Experience in developing solutions utilizing agentic AI methodologies and patterns.

• Familiarity with Unity Catalog or comparable data governance and lineage frameworks.

• Proven ability to deliver reliable, production-quality data pipelines and analytical systems.

• Experience using MLflow for experiment tracking, model/agent evaluation, or observability.

• Knowledge of multi-agent orchestration patterns in enterprise data environments.

• Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or providing AI functionalities via APIs.

• Background in the aviation or travel sector, along with knowledge of flight data concepts.
