Senior Data Engineer, Cloud Cost & Usage Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain data pipelines, automation frameworks, and datasets to enhance cloud cost visibility, attribution, and insights.

• Architect and execute scalable data models and ingestion frameworks tailored for high-volume telemetry and infrastructure usage data.

• Build specialized tools that facilitate cost-aware decision-making across Product, Engineering, and Finance departments.

• Enhance data systems for optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness through query tuning, storage strategies, and compute optimization.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Finance teams on initiatives aimed at cost optimization and usage-based insights.

• Maintain data quality, validation, auditing, and troubleshooting throughout the entire production data workflow.

• Deliver detailed cost visibility, precise spend attribution, and data-driven insights into cloud infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong background in Data Engineering with demonstrated experience in building and managing end-to-end ELT/ETL pipelines in cloud environments.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.

• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, and Amazon Aurora.

• Solid experience in CI/CD, version control, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, and REST API integrations.

• Extensive expertise in data modeling and large-scale data processing.

• Fluent in English for daily communication.

• Availability to work several hours overlapping with US-based teams aligned to the Central Time zone.

• Proficiency in Scala is a plus.

• FinOps Foundation Certification (Practitioner or Engineer level) is a plus.

• Experience with cloud cost optimization, tagging strategies, cost monitoring, or data platform/shared infrastructure engineering is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AWS and GCP, as well as experience using Datadog, is a plus.
