Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, implementation, optimization, and support of intricate enterprise data engineering solutions

• Take ownership of delivery and operational results for designated data domains

• Develop, implement, and sustain data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows

• Make informed technical design choices to guarantee scalability, reliability, and performance

• Identify avenues to incorporate AI into engineering workflows and operational procedures

• Establish optimal practices for application lifecycle management, deployment pipelines, source control, and governance across the Power Platform

• Direct the design, development, optimization, and governance of enterprise Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio

• Create enterprise-grade Power Platform solutions that integrate with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and other enterprise systems

• Convert analytics and reporting requirements into production-ready data solutions

• Develop and maintain integrated data views across EMR and non-EMR source systems

• Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of data pipelines and platform components

• Anticipate changes to the platform and evaluate their downstream effects

• Lead the resolution of complex incidents and contribute to root cause analysis and preventive enhancements

• Design and implement data models for querying, analytics, and reporting purposes

• Organize and enrich data for BI developers and analysts

• Support datasets utilized for advanced analytics, statistical analyses, and reporting

• Collaborate with BI developers, Data Integrity teams, and Data Science

• Serve as a technical thought partner to Associate and Standard engineers

• Mentor team members and establish reusable development standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

• 7 or more years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, software development, or a similar technical role

• Proficient in SQL, including complex query optimization and data preparation

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms or enterprise data environments

• Strong experience in designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable data solutions

• Experience with version control (Git) and scripting (Python preferred)

• Proven experience in designing and implementing Power Platform solutions, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio

• Expertise in designing and optimizing data pipelines and governed architectures for advanced AI/ML workloads

• Epic Cogito Fundamentals (COG170) certification; course completion required within 12 months of hire or promotion

• Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) certification; course completion required within 12 months of hire or promotion

• Caboodle Data Model (CDW110v) certification; course completion required within 12 months of hire or promotion

• Caboodle Development Fundamentals (CDW300v) or Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure (DP-203) certification; course completion required within 12 months of hire or promotion

• Must demonstrate the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
