Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the transition of data from SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, and SAP Data Services to an Azure-based framework.

• Create and execute dimensional modeling and data warehousing solutions utilizing DBT, Python, and other relevant technologies.

• Administer secure, dependable, and scalable ETL pipelines through DBT, Databricks notebooks, and REST APIs.

• Facilitate reporting and analytics with PowerBI.

• Construct semantic layers, SQL endpoints, and lakehouse architectures within Microsoft PowerBI Fabric.

• Collaborate with external vendors and internal team members to successfully execute projects and share knowledge.

• Enhance data workflows and implement CI/CD pipelines using Microsoft DevOps, Terraform, and Python automation.

• Create reporting frameworks that promote data accessibility and insights for global data stewards and other departments.

• Engage in Agile sprint planning and fulfill commitments within two-week sprint intervals.

• Communicate effectively with contractors and internal teams in technical English.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly Data Lake and Azure Synapse.

• Familiarity with Databricks.

• Proficient in Azure DevOps for CI/CD processes.

• Demonstrated expertise in data warehousing techniques, dimensional modeling, and ETL procedures.

• Experience utilizing DBT for managing ETL tasks.

• Skilled in Python for data extraction and automation, especially with REST APIs and CI/CD workflows.

• Advanced knowledge of PowerBI, encompassing semantic models, PowerBI Fabric, SQL endpoints, and transitioning from on-prem SSRS to PowerBI Service.

• Strong English communication abilities.

• Proven capability to work within Agile frameworks.

• Experience collaborating with external vendors and internal stakeholders.

• A history of successfully executing intricate cloud migration initiatives.

• Seasoned professional capable of operating independently without extensive onboarding or supervision.

• Familiarity with machine learning document processing tools is advantageous.

• Practical experience using Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure is preferred.
