Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Construct and enhance data systems that drive product insights and facilitate decision-making.

• Collaborate with analysts, product managers, and engineers to architect scalable data pipelines.

• Enhance data infrastructure to ensure reliable data is accessible across teams.

• Collect data from various sources, including databases, APIs, event tracking tools like PostHog, and spreadsheets.

• Design, maintain, and refine ETL/ELT processes that integrate multiple sources into the data warehouse.

• Oversee and enhance data infrastructure utilizing GCP and contemporary cloud services.

• Automate data workflows, monitoring processes, and quality assurance checks.

• Guarantee data consistency, accuracy, reliability, security, documentation, and accessibility.

• Contribute to shaping the technical direction and operational practices of the expanding Data team.

• Integrate on-chain and off-chain data into a unified user model.

• Enhance pipeline performance and manage query costs as on-chain data volumes increase.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar position focused on large-scale data systems.

• Expertise in Python, particularly for creating data processing pipelines.

• Practical experience with ETL/ELT tools, ideally dbt, and data orchestration methods.

• Familiarity with modern data warehouse solutions such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or equivalent technologies.

• Strong command of SQL.

• Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases.

• Hands-on experience with cloud services, preferably GCP, for data storage, computing, and orchestration.

• Knowledge of Git and data CI/CD workflows for version-controlled, testable data deployments.

• Experience integrating AI tools like Claude Code into engineering workflows.

• Extensive experience using Excel or Google Sheets for quick data analysis and pivot table creation.

• Experience in fintech, banking, insurance, or the Web3 sector is a plus.

• Familiarity with processing on-chain data from sources such as Dune or Solscan is also a plus.
