Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Gain an in-depth understanding of core products, including legacy code and various services.

• Actively identify and implement solutions for issues, inefficiencies, risks, technical gaps, and areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with product engineering teams to negotiate support for change implementation.

• Strategize both short-term victories and long-term enhancement plans.

• Maintain and improve existing data processes to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.

• Develop a thorough understanding of current tables, data flows, and jobs.

• Lead initiatives to enhance reliability and performance across data workflows.

• Take ownership of and execute modernization initiatives for data processes.

• Work collaboratively across functions to ensure architectural consistency and the adoption of best practices.

• Design and manage large-scale data pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering.

• Advanced SQL skills, including the optimization of complex queries for speed and efficiency.

• Proficient in DBT for data transformation and modeling.

• Strong fundamentals in data engineering and database management (DDL/DML/SQL).

• Practical experience with Snowflake and Elastic.

• Extensive experience in building, scaling, and managing large-scale data pipelines.

• Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and drive projects to successful completion.

• Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration is a plus.
