Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in development tasks within the analytics and reporting team.

• Offer mentorship, direction, onboarding, and training to fellow Data Engineers.

• Collaborate closely with account management, ETL, data warehousing, business intelligence, and reporting teams.

• Design and enhance data pipelines.

• Investigate and resolve data and data pipeline challenges.

• Develop data models.

• Set up and explore new technologies.

• Conduct research on complex data.

• Examine, extract, cleanse, and load data.

• Construct data pipelines utilizing SQL and other technologies.

• Triage and address complex incoming bugs and incidents.

• Execute technical operational tasks.

• Participate in sprint refinement, planning, and kick-off to estimate stories and raise implementation details.

• Monitor, maintain, and enhance data pipeline performance.

• Maintain and implement quality assurance standards, methods, and tools to ensure data consistency and accuracy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering.

• Software certification or degree in an IT-related field.

• Profound understanding of modern relational and non-relational models and their distinctions.

• Proficient in writing complex SQL, including pivots, window functions, and intricate date calculations.

• Fluent in the Python programming language.

• Skilled in Excel and analytical tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, and PowerBI.

• Expertise in REST API and JSON, including data parsing and conversion into relational models.

• Detail-oriented and capable of examining data and code for quality and precision.

• Able to lead and mentor junior data engineers.

• A self-starter who proactively addresses inefficiencies or identifies opportunities.

• ETL experience is preferred.

• Experience with AWS Lambda / Console is preferred.

• Familiarity with Git is preferred.
