Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines utilizing Python, SQL, Snowflake, Dagster, dbt, and AWS.

• Take ownership of end-to-end data engineering projects from data ingestion to analytics enablement.

• Create and enhance reliable SQL-based data models.

• Assist in establishing a more robust staging and testing environment for data modifications prior to production.

• Enhance monitoring, alerting, and data quality across critical data pipelines.

• Contribute to Change Data Capture (CDC) and initiatives for lower latency data movement.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Analytics, Engineering, and business stakeholders.

• Engage in code reviews and elevate engineering standards throughout the team.

• Pair with fellow engineers as necessary and mentor junior team members as the team expands.

• Possesses extensive data engineering experience and operates as a senior individual contributor.

• Demonstrates strong software engineering principles and maintains production-quality engineering practices.

• Highly proficient in Python and SQL within real-world data engineering contexts.

• Familiar with modern data tooling such as Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, Airflow, AWS, or equivalent technologies.

• Understands and can pragmatically apply data modeling principles.

• Values testing, monitoring, alerting, and ensuring data quality.

• Excels in a startup or scale-up environment characterized by high ownership and ambiguity.

• Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
