Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and expand a contemporary BI data warehouse/data lake from inception.

• Develop and oversee automated ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate data from the Azure-hosted product platform, CRM, and external APIs.

• Architect the data warehouse to support internal analytics and future customer-facing analytics.

• Take responsibility for the written platform recommendation, considering factors such as refresh latency, aggregation performance, schema evolution, tenant isolation, total cost of ownership over three years, and migration expenses.

• Establish and uphold data governance, quality assurance, and performance enhancement standards.

• Manage source-system semantics and technical execution.

• Ensure data freshness, completeness, and adherence to a published refresh SLA.

• Document procedures so that others can independently manage the full process.

• Provide counsel to leadership regarding data strategy and best practices.

• Convert technical data models into accessible business language for stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5-7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, BI Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Data Architecture within a rapidly growing SaaS environment.

• Led a greenfield data infrastructure project from start to finish.

• Extensive knowledge of modern cloud data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or AWS Redshift.

• Proficient in data lake architectures.

• Experience in developing complex ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or comparable orchestration frameworks.

• Advanced skills in complex SQL and query optimization across Azure SQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

• Practical experience in extracting and integrating data from enterprise GTM tools such as Salesforce, Gainsight, Marketo, or similar platforms.

• Proficient in Python, Scala, or C# for data manipulation and automation.

• Experience integrating a non-relational source like MongoDB into a relational warehouse is an advantage rather than a necessity.
