This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Take ownership of a Data Lakehouse centered around Snowflake, integrating structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Create and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest and transform data from both internal systems and external APIs.
• Develop data models, schemas, and transformation frameworks tailored for analytical and regulatory requirements.
• Implement best practices for data versioning, orchestration, and automation.
• Ensure scalability, data lineage, and governance throughout the data lifecycle.
• Design and manage Snowflake semantic models utilizing DirectQuery and Import.
• Produce operational reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
• Uphold data integrity, privacy, and security in line with FCA and GDPR standards.
• Oversee and enhance query performance and storage efficiency.
• Collaborate with teams in Trading, Finance, Marketing, Compliance, and Operations to convert requirements into technical solutions.
• Facilitate regulatory, management, and operational reporting using structured data models.
• Background in financial services, trading, or fintech settings.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing Data Warehouses or Delta Lakehouses with Snowflake.
• Proficient in SQL and data modeling, including star/snowflake schemas and dimensional modeling.
• At least 2 years of experience writing dbt models in a production environment.
• Familiarity with dbt sources, snapshots, tests, macros, exposures, and medallion architecture.
• Over 3 years of experience building production Power BI solutions on enterprise data warehouses.
• Advanced knowledge of DAX, including time intelligence, variables, virtual relationships, and calculation groups.
• Skilled in Power Query/M, Tabular Editor, and DAX Studio.
• Strong SQL skills with Snowflake.
• Understanding of warehouse sizing, clustering, query profiles, and cost management strategies.
• Knowledge of orchestration and transformation frameworks.
• Practical experience with data analysis, visualization, and operational reporting tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into scalable data architectures.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in data engineering and/or analysis.
• Nice to have: Proficiency in Python or another scripting language.
• Nice to have: Experience with AWS (ECS, S3, IAM), Terraform, and Git/GitHub Actions.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of Power BI Embedded, Fabric, or insights on when to avoid using them.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric Direct Lake, Snowflake Cortex/Claude.ai connector, or other AI-on-warehouse methodologies.
