Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Design and develop real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines.

• Assist in migrating current Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions.

• Create scalable streaming and data processing solutions.

• Handle high-volume data and optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Design systems that facilitate low-latency data ingestion and real-time analytics.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the platform.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and other technical stakeholders to define and implement the target architecture.

• Participate in technical decision-making and the advancement of a modern, real-time data ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, ideally with large-scale data platforms.

• Extensive hands-on experience with data ingestion, data pipelines, and distributed data processing.

• Strong background in real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures.

• Solid understanding of Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures.

• Practical experience with Apache Flink or similar stream-processing technologies.

• Familiarity with Apache Iceberg or other modern data lakehouse technologies.

• Good insight into data modeling, data quality, performance optimization, and scalable data architectures.

• Experience in cloud and/or distributed environments.

• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently and contribute to architectural and technical decisions.

• Nice to have: Experience with Apache Fluss, Apache Hop, Telegraf, Apache Polaris, StarRocks, Helical Insight, or Grafana.

• Nice to have: Experience with other modern open-source Big Data and streaming technologies.
