Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Construct the Air Force Data Mesh Environment by integrating dependable data engineering with contemporary application development.

• Facilitate governed discovery, access, and interoperability for distributed data products.

• Create scalable ETL and ELT pipelines, data models, and orchestration workflows utilizing Airflow, Dagster, dbt, and Python.

• Build application features and APIs using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

• Implement SQL, warehouse platforms, validation, observability, and automated testing throughout the data lifecycle.

• Collaborate with product teams, DevOps, infrastructure security, and mission stakeholders to convert requirements into maintainable software.

• Design secure access and management for sensitive data in accordance with project security standards.

• Assist with Air Force government contract initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Active Secret clearance is required.

• Proven experience in both data infrastructure and full stack application development.

• Proficient in TypeScript, React, Node.js, SQL, warehousing, and orchestration.

• Experience with API design, containerization, and engineering quality practices.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Python data tools, stream processing, or event-driven architecture.

• Preferred: Experience with Production ML integration, RAG or LLM applications, and MLOps.

• Preferred: Understanding of CUI, NIST controls, STIGs, or DoD authorized environments.
