This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines along with ETL/ELT processes.
• Develop integrations with both internal and external data sources, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Construct and maintain frameworks for data ingestion, accommodating both structured and unstructured data.
• Manage data movement and orchestration across Azure Storage, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or forthcoming enterprise data solutions.
• Develop and uphold data models tailored for analytics, reporting, and machine learning tasks.
• Oversee AI-team data storage configurations, including data lake, warehouse, and reporting structures.
• Establish practices for dataset versioning, lineage, and reproducibility.
• Create and enforce standards and monitoring procedures for data quality.
• Design scalable strategies for increasing data volumes and sources.
• Manage the technical infrastructure that supports Power BI and future reporting platforms.
• Develop semantic models, curated datasets, and reporting-ready data products.
• Collaborate with analytics stakeholders to ensure the production of high-quality reporting assets.
• Partner with Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists to provide datasets necessary for model development.
• Work together with business and IT teams to comprehend evolving data requirements.
• Assist in data governance, security, and compliance practices in healthcare data environments.
• Provide guidance to business teams during negotiations involving third-party data sources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related fields.
• Proficient in Python development.
• Advanced expertise in SQL.
• Experience in developing API integrations and solutions for data ingestion.
• Proven experience in designing and operating production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, with a preference for Azure.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and warehousing principles.
• Experience with technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.
• Background working with healthcare, claims, provider, or member data.
• Familiarity with machine learning workflows and MLOps concepts.
• Experience in implementing monitoring, observability, and data quality frameworks.
• Proficient with Git, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Experience utilizing coding assistants, e.g., Claude Code, for feature-oriented development.
• Reliable internet connection via cable broadband or fiber optic service, with a minimum of 100Mbps download and 25Mbps upload speeds.
