This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Lead and guide a team of data engineers, offering support, mentorship, and technical expertise.
• Oversee backlog management, sprint planning, and prioritization processes for data engineering initiatives.
• Work in conjunction with business and technical leaders to implement strategic and tactical projects.
• Assess and explore new data engineering platforms and tools to improve the technology stack and data infrastructure.
• Create, develop, and sustain efficient data pipelines from TMS and various other data sources.
• Design and establish new data structures or enhance existing ones to accommodate changing business needs.
• Guarantee data accuracy, reliability, and completeness through thorough validation and monitoring practices.
• Build and maintain the Data Vault, Data Warehouse, and Data Marts to provide essential metrics.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, executives, clients, engineers, and external partners.
• Enhance and solidify code deployments, data validation, error handling, alerting, data democratization, and modernization of technical debt.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required (or equivalent experience), ideally in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of technology experience with one or more of Amazon Relational Database Service (Aurora, MySQL), Microsoft SQL Server, or Snowflake.
• Outstanding SQL development and performance tuning abilities.
• Significant experience with Python, including libraries such as Pandas, Streamlit, and NumPy.
• Familiarity with JSON and CSV formats.
• Experience utilizing Requests.
• Familiarity with TMS, WMS, or other enterprise logistics platforms is highly advantageous.
• Experience with Data Vault 2.0 is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of Fivetran is a significant plus.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory is a considerable advantage.
• Familiarity with REST API is a strong benefit.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Coalesce.io and YAML is an additional advantage.
• Familiarity with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD practices is highly desirable.
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and capable of taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.
