Senior Data Center Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Carry out physical rack-and-stack deployments, structured cabling, and infrastructure lifecycle management within production data centers.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and network issues.

• Repair or replace malfunctioning components.

• Oversee and resolve operational ticket queues.

• Lead scheduled corrective maintenance and break/fix activities.

• Collaborate with engineering teams, system owners, and third-party Remote Hands technicians to confirm installations.

• Keep detailed asset tracking documentation.

• Support up to 50% of domestic and international travel.

• Deploy, maintain, and scale physical server, network, and cabling infrastructure that powers global production data center environments.

• Report directly to the Director of Network Infrastructure in the Network Infrastructure department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience using modern AI tools, automation, or scripting to enhance data center operational workflows and diagnostics.

• At least 5 years of experience in production data center environments.

• Demonstrated success in engaging and directing remote data center vendors.

• U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the customers associated with this role.

• In-depth technical knowledge of various server platforms, network hardware, optics, fiber plants, and copper cabling.

• Proficiency in Linux/Unix command-line interfaces.

• Expertise in BIOS configurations.

• Familiarity with out-of-band management tools like iLO, iDRAC, and IPMI.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently and regularly.

• Willingness and capability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% (preferred).
