Senior Data Architect – Google Cloud Platform and Databricks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, documentation, and execution of contemporary, scalable Lakehouse architectures utilizing GCP and Databricks.

• Lead and guarantee the successful execution of intricate data migration projects, transitioning from on-premises environments to the cloud or across cloud platforms.

• Establish standards for data ingestion, processing, and consumption.

• Ensure optimal performance and infrastructure cost efficiency (FinOps).

• Define best practices for dimensional, relational, and NoSQL data modeling.

• Implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion architecture.

• Set guidelines for data governance, quality, lineage, and security in accordance with Brazil’s LGPD.

• Act as the primary technical resource for Engineering and Data Science teams.

• Assist in complex technical decision-making.

• Foster a data-driven culture and mentor junior professionals.

• Drive ongoing enhancements across the Data Chapter.

• Collaborate with Livelo stakeholders and business leaders to convert business requirements into effective technical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in scalable data governance.

• Ability to develop and advocate for sustainable governance processes and policies.

• More than 5 years of practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Dataplex.

• Profound understanding of data modeling and Data Mesh.

• Familiarity with data catalog and cross-domain data-sharing platforms.

• Knowledge of Apache Iceberg in conjunction with Apache Spark and BigLake.

• Experience with Databricks, encompassing Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and cluster optimization.

• Demonstrated experience in migrating both structured and unstructured data, along with designing new architectures from scratch.

• Prior experience as a Data Architect or as a Lead/Principal Data Engineer.

• Proficient in PySpark, Python, and advanced SQL for large-scale data processing.

• Experience with Lakehouse architecture and CI/CD practices in data (DataOps).

• Excellent communication abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts to business audiences and leading architecture discussions.

• Official GCP certifications are advantageous.

• Official Databricks certifications are advantageous.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform, is advantageous.

• Background in loyalty programs, e-commerce, payments, or financial services is advantageous.
