Senior Dairy Business Advisor

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable business consultant and risk management expert for Land O'Lakes Dairy Member Owners.

• Assist members in enhancing profitability, increasing financial literacy, and navigating market fluctuations.

• Utilize proprietary tools to provide farm financial and risk management consulting services.

• Create tailored risk management strategies utilizing DRP, LRP, forward contracting, and revenue and margin management tools.

• Produce and present thought leadership, insights, and educational materials.

• Convert intricate market, financial, and risk data into actionable business strategies.

• Establish and sustain trusted relationships, serving as the primary advisor for financial and risk management services.

• Facilitate profit team meetings on the farm.

• Position Land O'Lakes as a reputable source of dairy business expertise through industry events, podcasts, publications, and educational initiatives.

• Collaborate with the broader MR team to identify member needs.

• Work across departments to recognize needs and formulate solutions.

• Generate financial analyses and insights for senior management regarding industry and membership.

• Provide member insights and field feedback to enhance consulting tools and services.

• Lead the implementation and adoption of programs, tools, and member solutions within assigned territories.

• Represent Land O'Lakes at industry meetings, conferences, trade shows, and member gatherings.

• Support sustainability, profitability, and business management initiatives.

• Partner with Purina, WinField United, and other business units to enhance member engagement and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Dairy Science, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in the dairy or agricultural sector, demonstrating expertise in risk management, agricultural finance, consulting, insurance, marketing, or business management.

• Proven history of consultative sales, business development, and relationship management.

• Strong grasp of dairy farm financial statements, cost of production analysis, risk management strategies, and market fundamentals.

• Experienced in presenting intricate financial and market concepts to varied audiences.

• Ability to influence, collaborate, and achieve results across cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Licensed or capable of obtaining necessary insurance licenses as required.

• Willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays.

• Authorized to work in the United States, based on the posting location 'Virtual (USA)'.
