Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, and enhance Microsoft Sentinel, focusing on data ingestion, analytics rules, workbooks, alerts, and security monitoring.

• Develop and refine detection capabilities utilizing Microsoft Defender XDR and KQL.

• Actively search for suspicious activities and emerging threats.

• Implement and uphold security controls across Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and cloud environments.

• Engineer and enhance security controls for endpoints, networks, and cloud infrastructure.

• Investigate and respond to security incidents, conduct technical analysis, support containment and remediation efforts, and contribute to post-incident enhancements.

• Manage and enhance vulnerability identification, prioritization, remediation, and reporting processes.

• Create automation and integrations to boost detection, investigation, response, and operational efficiency.

• Contribute to the establishment and ongoing improvement of Zero Trust security architecture.

• Assess security technologies, implement technical solutions, and continuously refine existing controls.

• Apply principles from the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and adhere to industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10+ years of hands-on experience with a bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.

• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, and KQL.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure security, endpoint security, network security, and cloud security.

• Demonstrated expertise in incident response, threat detection, threat hunting, and security investigations.

• Hands-on experience in vulnerability management and security remediation.

• Experience in implementing Zero Trust security principles within an enterprise setting.

• Strong skills in scripting, automation, and security orchestration.

• Ability to analyze complex security events and translate findings into effective technical controls and remediations.

• Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and its application in an enterprise security context.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the capacity to work independently.
