Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver advanced cybersecurity analysis and technical assistance across enterprise IT and cloud settings.

• Assist in security architecture, security engineering, cloud security, and information assurance efforts throughout the system lifecycle.

• Evaluate customer needs, mission objectives, and cybersecurity requirements, translating them into actionable technical and security specifications.

• Aid in IT and cloud design, security, development, systems engineering, and implementation initiatives.

• Assess system architectures, security controls, and technical solutions to pinpoint cybersecurity vulnerabilities and compliance deficiencies.

• Offer technical recommendations and guidance related to cybersecurity solutions.

• Lead and assist in federal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.

• Support cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and authorization tasks in line with RMF and FedRAMP standards.

• Evaluate security controls and suggest remediation strategies.

• Create, review, and maintain security and authorization documentation.

• Identify vulnerabilities, security threats, and compliance gaps, coordinating remediation efforts.

• Collaborate with system owners, architects, engineers, developers, cybersecurity staff, and government representatives.

• Ensure compliance with federal policies, processes, standards, and security frameworks.

• Provide recommendations, technical analyses, status reports, and risk assessments to project leadership and government representatives.

• Support ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to members of the cybersecurity team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Security, including at least 1 year focused on Cybersecurity and Cloud Security for a major government agency.

• Proficient in security architecture and security engineering.

• Experience in project management and coordination of cybersecurity activities across diverse technical teams.

• Capability to convert customer needs into technical and cybersecurity specifications.

• Experience in managing or assisting with IT and cloud design, security, development, systems engineering, and implementation projects.

• Extensive background in supporting federal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operate (ATO) initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of FedRAMP and RMF frameworks.

• In-depth understanding of relevant federal cybersecurity policies, processes, standards, and frameworks.

• Ability to analyze complex cybersecurity challenges and formulate practical recommendations and solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a High-Risk Public Trust clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration (Business Management), Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or a related discipline.

• Certification in one or more of IAT Level III, IAM Level III, or IASAE Level III.

• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification may be used in place of the relevant bachelor’s degree or four years of pertinent experience, as allowed by position requirements.
