Senior Cybersecurity Advisor – Network Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as a trusted advisor to Optiv’s clients by designing effective and scalable network security solutions.

• Engage in the Field Center of Excellence to position Optiv's services, technology partners, and products to enhance client value.

• Propel services and technologies business to achieve or surpass quota targets in collaboration with account and domain teams.

• Maintain a deep understanding of clients’ security environments, operations, security requirements, and risk tolerance.

• Recognize security issues and align them with Optiv’s strategic solutions and cybersecurity initiatives.

• Discover cross-sell and upsell opportunities within client and partner relationships.

• Qualify leads, define scope, manage proposals, and guide opportunities to closure.

• Engage in sales opportunities across Optiv’s offerings and clearly communicate solutions to senior client stakeholders.

• Track industry trends and the security landscape to provide thought leadership, analysis, and guidance.

• Collaborate with service delivery teams to provide domain-specific materials and ensure consistent delivery.

• Formulate security strategies and roadmaps that align with business objectives, budgets, and ROI metrics.

• Maintain advisory relationships with client stakeholders and technology partners.

• Position network security platforms and managed services, which include Cisco, Palo Alto, Cloudflare, Zscaler, and Wiz.

• Lead requirement gathering, technology selection, demonstrations, and evaluations of security technologies.

• Guide clients in the design, optimization, and policy automation of next-generation firewalls, micro-segmentation, and Zero Trust architectures.

• Collaborate with internal Optiv teams to align client expectations and ensure excellence in service delivery.

• Identify emerging technologies for internal enablement and client engagement.

• Advocate for Optiv’s portfolio and security awareness at speaking events and through social media.

• Participate in account planning, forecasting, pipeline management, proposal processes, contracts, and responses to RFI/RFPs.

• Continuously enhance technical capabilities, soft skills, and cybersecurity knowledge through education and certification.

• Advance sales techniques and assist in closing sales.

• Travel up to 40% within North Carolina, South Carolina, and other specified states.


⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BA or equivalent with relevant work experience.

• At least 8 years in an information security position, ideally as a consulting advisor, architect, or engineer.

• Minimum of 3 years specifically dedicated to Network Security solutions.

• Strong grasp of the current threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and defensive measures.

• Robust business and technical acumen with the ability to lead discussions focused on technology.

• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in whiteboard sessions.

• Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing SOWs, quotes, and client deliverables.

• Broad knowledge in security-related areas with ongoing expertise development across other domains.

• Vendor-specific certifications primarily related to the specialty.

• CISSP, GIAC, CISA, CISM, CCSP, or other pertinent professional cybersecurity certifications.

• Experience in speaking about and promoting technology vision at events.

• Prior experience managing an information security function or program.

• Membership and active participation in organizational chapters such as ISACA or ISSA.

• Capability to work as a highly motivated self-starter without daily supervision.

• Ability to thrive in a highly adaptable and agile team environment with prompt communication.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% within the designated states.
