Senior Cyber Security, Microsoft Ecosystem Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, propose, implement, and troubleshoot security measures across Microsoft 365, Purview, DSPM, Azure, Intune, EDR/Defender suite, Power Platform, and Windows Server environments.

• Evaluate and suggest security policies utilizing Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Purview, DSPM, Defender suite, and Power Platform.

• Assess security controls and architectures and recommend enhancements using Microsoft’s ecosystem for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructures.

• Create, implement, and enforce sensitivity labels, encryption protocols, data retention policies, and DLP measures across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

• Design and manage end-to-end architectural integrations between security tools and related platforms including CASB, SOAR, SIEM, ServiceNow, CMDB, email gateways, and threat intelligence systems.

• Monitor and analyze security logs to facilitate incident response, forensics, and investigations.

• Oversee and optimize system health, connector fidelity, data quality, and agent deployment success across extensive asset bases.

• Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and incident responses for Microsoft platforms in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Work with compliance teams to fulfill regulatory requirements and support audit activities and deliverables.

• Assist in maturity modeling, executive dashboards, and architectural blueprints.

• Develop and maintain operational documentation and reports for monthly trend analysis and project components.

• Lead enterprise implementation and deployment initiatives involving both technical and leadership teams.

• Offer technical mentorship and training to engineers.

• Contribute to reviews of security architecture and infrastructure.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and Microsoft’s evolving security landscape.

• Align technical and process enhancement recommendations with organizational objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a degree (Required).

• 7+ years of relevant experience without a degree (Required).

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on Microsoft technologies and licensing.

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 security features, Purview, DSPM, Azure, Intune, and Defender suite.

• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation for security functions.

• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and identity-based access controls.

• Strong understanding of data security, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.

• Exceptional communication and documentation skills.

• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert or equivalent (Preferred).

• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Purview, and compliance center tools (Preferred).

• Experience in hybrid cloud environments and large-scale enterprise deployments (Preferred).

• Experience in healthcare or regulated industry settings, including HIPAA, HICP, and NIST (Preferred).

• Familiarity with architectural review boards, solution design documentation, and capability roadmaps (Preferred).

• No specific certification or licensure requirements.
