
Senior CSA Estimator – Data Center Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop and oversee cost plans and detailed estimates from the initial concept to comprehensive design across various regions; lead estimate reviews with both internal and external teams.
• Deliver milestone cost updates (concept, schematic, DD, CD) and effectively communicate the basis of estimates, assumptions, inclusions/exclusions, and associated risks.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost verifications for intricate, multi-package CSA scopes; ensure consistency among scope, drawings/models, and estimates.
• Provide program-level estimating for defined scopes, integrating inputs from multiple projects/campuses to aid in portfolio-level decision-making.
• Evaluate contractor pricing (bids, pay applications, change orders); conduct comparative analyses and prepare recommendations.
• Drive benchmarking and cost modeling; create, maintain, and utilize historical cost data and metrics; support life-cycle cost (LCC) analyses.
• Facilitate value engineering (VE); develop cost/benefit alternatives and assist with feasibility and early-stage cost modeling.
• Support procurement and preconstruction activities, including prequalification, bid list creation, bid analysis, tender reporting, and contract documentation.
• Collaborate with cost management, procurement, and project controls to ensure the alignment of estimating outputs with budgets, commercial strategies, and program-level planning.
• Evaluate design changes and produce timely estimate updates with appropriate accuracy levels.
• Mentor and coordinate support staff; contribute to the development of training materials, templates, and internal/external estimating tools.
• Prepare content suitable for leadership for client preconstruction and estimating presentations.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Background in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Cost Controls.
• Experience in providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
• Proven track record in supporting large-scale construction projects and programs.
• Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including value management and value engineering.
