Senior Crop Insurance Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain professional connections with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and fellow adjusters.

• Capture and relay loss information to accurately assess potential damages in accordance with established loss adjustment protocols.

• Conduct field inspections, interpret maps and aerial imagery, measure agricultural fields, and assess storage bins.

• Demonstrate proficiency in company software, including daily oversight of company communications.

• Adhere to FCIS, State, and Company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to MPCI and Private Products.

• Complete both initial and ongoing training and certifications mandated by FCIC and State Regulations.

• Clarify adjusting processes and associated findings to policyholders and agents.

• Engage in fact-finding and investigate crop damage to ascertain potential indemnities.

• Provide training to field claims personnel on claim procedures, best practices, and compliance standards.

• Acquire knowledge of new crops as necessary.

• Operate in both indoor and outdoor farm settings, with travel requirements of up to 50%, primarily within a two-hour driving radius from the designated home office.

• Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a crop insurance adjuster is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing crop insurance claims is preferred.

• CAPP certification is required.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving history.

• Applicable State license is necessary.

• High school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent.

• A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.

• Basic mathematical skills are essential.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required.

• Capability to fulfill documentation requirements.

• Ability to apply analytical thinking, uncover facts, and resolve issues.

• Capacity to remain self-motivated and effective.

• Proficiency in working both independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices is necessary.

• Capability to work in both office and outdoor farm environments.

• Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to 3 miles.

• Capacity to climb agricultural storage bins up to 75 feet and perform tasks at significant heights.

• Ability to operate in confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.

• Capability to work in environments with high dust levels.

• Ability to use required personal protective equipment.

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and as required.
