This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Actively oversee a buyer portfolio by collecting data and evaluating buyers based on established targets through manual grading.
• Maintain a profitable business portfolio within agreed parameters utilizing effective credit analysis techniques.
• Conduct financial and credit assessments to establish suitable company credit ratings.
• Perform buyer site visits and phone interviews to gather essential portfolio-monitoring data.
• Keep track of high-risk buyers and gather proprietary information for the EHNA database through connections with Finance Directors and treasurers.
• Leverage available information to consistently grade buyers within authority and make recommendations when outside authority limits.
• Engage with Sales Agents, Commercial Underwriters, and/or customers regarding underwriting criteria, industry forecasts, and target markets.
• Develop industry sector forecasts using both public and proprietary data to identify market trends.
• Create and implement risk monitoring strategies, including review dates, follow-ups, and updates.
• Generate accurate periodic reports for both internal and external stakeholders and take necessary follow-up actions.
• Monitor and alert on increasing risks or buyers who may default.
• Suggest risk underwriting strategies for specific buyers to reduce default risks while enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Identify and implement risk reduction and mitigation strategies on a case-by-case basis.
• Communicate effectively with buyers and policyholders to support the identified risk strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, or Finance.
• MBA is preferred.
• 4-7 years of financial management experience in banking, credit insurance brokerage, or within a credit insurance context.
• Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of financial software and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong understanding of Financial Statements.
• Excellent analytical abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for high-level business meetings, both internally and externally.
• Outstanding written communication skills.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective time management skills.
• Bilingual candidates preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in credit with a focus on high volume risk analysis and underwriting.
• Understanding of the local economic environment.
• Expertise in a specific region and/or trade sector.
• Strong financial analysis skills; comprehensive knowledge of Finance and Credit Management.
• Expertise and experience in buyer assessment.
