Project Risk Controls Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Identify, evaluate, quantify, monitor, and convey project risks and opportunities throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with project leadership, estimating, scheduling, preconstruction, and operational teams.

• Support the Michels Risk Management Framework and enhance decision-making through risk awareness.

• Facilitate comprehensive risk reviews.

• Assist in conducting quantitative analyses for cost and schedule risks.

• Create three-point estimates.

• Align risks with cost accounts and schedule activities.

• Provide assistance with uncertainty, correlation, sensitivity, and Monte Carlo analyses.

• Generate risk dashboards, heat maps, trend reports, and presentations for executive levels.

• Monitor mitigation efforts and emerging risks.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of risk management procedures, tools, training, metrics, and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, finance, business analytics, economics, or a related discipline; equivalent education and relevant experience may be acceptable.

• 2 to 5 years of experience in project risk management, project controls, estimating, scheduling, preconstruction, cost analysis, construction operations, or a related area.

• Experience in supporting large or complex projects in construction, infrastructure, energy, utilities, transportation, marine, or industrial sectors is preferred.

• Knowledge of project cost, schedule, and risk principles, including contingency and uncertainty.

• Experience in developing or assisting with quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses is preferred.

• Familiarity with three-point estimating, Monte Carlo simulation, uncertainty modeling, correlation, and sensitivity analysis is preferred.

• Ability to interpret project data and effectively communicate key risk drivers, mitigation status, emerging exposures, and potential impacts on project objectives.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Safran Risk Manager is desirable.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across project teams and leadership.

• Willingness to travel as required for project meetings, risk workshops, and training sessions.
