This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Oversee a profitable business portfolio within established parameters by employing effective credit analysis techniques.
• Conduct financial and credit evaluations to ascertain suitable company credit ratings.
• Perform buyer visits or telephone interviews to gather essential portfolio-monitoring data.
• Keep track of high-risk buyers and obtain confidential information for the EHNA database.
• Build and maintain relationships with Finance Directors and treasurers through visits, calls, and written communication.
• Leverage available information to consistently evaluate buyers within your authority and suggest recommendations for those outside your authority.
• Liaise with Sales Agents, Commercial Underwriters, and/or customers regarding underwriting prerequisites, industry forecasts, and targeted markets.
• Develop industry sector forecasts utilizing public and proprietary data to identify market trends.
• Report to the head of SRU as the leading SRM expert.
• Create and implement comprehensive risk monitoring plans, including review dates, follow-up actions, and updates.
• Generate accurate periodic reports for both internal and external stakeholders and carry out necessary follow-up actions.
• Monitor, notify, and propose enhancements for the early detection of deteriorating risk or buyers at risk of default.
• Propose risk underwriting strategies for individual buyers to minimize defaults while maximizing customer satisfaction.
• Identify and implement risk reduction and mitigation strategies on a case-by-case basis.
• Communicate effectively with buyers and policyholders to ensure consistent messaging in support of the risk strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
• MBA is preferred.
• 4-7 years of financial management experience in banking, credit insurance brokerage, or a credit insurance setting.
• Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of financial software and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong understanding of financial statements.
• Exceptional analytical abilities.
• Good interpersonal skills for high-level business meetings, both internally and externally.
• Outstanding written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective at managing time efficiently.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in credit, with a focus on high-volume risk analysis and underwriting.
• Familiarity with the local economic environment.
• Expertise in a specific region and/or trade sector.
• Strong financial analysis skills; solid knowledge of finance and credit management.
• Expertise and experience in buyer assessment.
