This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Proactively oversee a portfolio of buyers by collecting relevant information and evaluating them according to established targets through manual grading.
• Manage a profitable business portfolio within set parameters using effective credit analysis techniques.
• Conduct financial and credit evaluations to assign appropriate credit ratings to companies.
• Perform buyer visits or telephone interviews to gather essential monitoring information for the portfolio.
• Keep track of high-risk buyers and request proprietary information for the EHNA database.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Finance Directors and treasurers through visits, calls, and written communication.
• Utilize available information to consistently assess buyers within authority limits and provide detailed recommendations outside authority.
• Liaise with Sales Agents, Commercial Underwriters, and/or customers regarding underwriting criteria, industry forecasts, and target markets.
• Generate industry sector analyses using both public and proprietary information to identify market trends.
• Create and implement comprehensive risk-monitoring plans, including review dates, follow-ups, and updates.
• Prepare precise periodic reports for both internal and external stakeholders and carry out necessary follow-up actions.
• Monitor, alert, and suggest improvements for the early detection of deteriorating risks or buyers at risk of default.
• Propose risk underwriting strategies for specific buyers to minimize defaults while maximizing customer satisfaction.
• Identify and implement risk reduction and mitigation strategies on a case-by-case basis.
• Communicate effectively with buyers and policyholders to support the defined risk strategy.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
• MBA is preferred.
• 4-7 years of financial management experience in banking, credit insurance brokerage, or a credit insurance setting.
• Strong computer skills, with a solid understanding of financial software and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent comprehension of financial statements.
• Highly developed analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for high-level business meetings, both internally and externally.
• Exceptional written communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective time management skills.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in credit, particularly with high-volume risk analysis and underwriting.
• Familiarity with the local economic market.
• Specialized knowledge of a specific region and/or trade sector.
• Strong financial analysis skills and a solid understanding of Finance and Credit Management.
