Senior Credit Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the creditworthiness of both new and existing SBA loans, including their eligibility.

• Detect policy exceptions and other credit-related issues to safeguard the asset quality of the Bank’s commercial loans.

• Assist in the preparation of credit analyses for loan requests, encompassing financial statement analysis, collateral evaluation, risk rating suggestions, trend assessments, and the identification of credit strengths and weaknesses.

• Draft written recommendations regarding loan approvals or alternative loan structures.

• Create financial statement spreadsheets that track financial ratio trends.

• Collaborate with Loan Officers during annual loan reviews.

• Participate in Loan Committee meetings.

• Aid in the preparation and assessment of credit proposals.

• Deliver exceptional service while supporting the Bank’s “People First” philosophy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in financial analysis, cash flow lending, accounting principles, and credit concepts.

• Ability to interpret and apply SBA Standard Operating Procedures.

• Familiarity with Windows Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Knowledge of pertinent Federal and State banking regulations.

• Solid understanding of basic loan documentation and general banking principles.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong PC skills, particularly a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

• Skills in time management, organization, and communication (both written and oral).

• Three to five years of experience in commercial lending.

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• Formal Bank Credit Training is an advantage.
