Senior Counsel, Primary Care Organization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver a comprehensive array of legal counsel and services

• Support Humana’s primary care operations focused on seniors, along with merger and acquisition activities

• Provide guidance on laws related to fraud, waste, and abuse, such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and Beneficiary Inducement Statute, as they pertain to CenterWell Primary Care’s delivery and operations

• Assist with regulatory diligence in healthcare for prospective merger and acquisition activities

• Manage and resolve legal issues during the integration process post-closing

• Counsel executives on critical matters that are often specific to segments

• Collaborate with company leaders to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations while safeguarding against external risks

• Apply independent judgment to complex legal matters with minimal oversight

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law institution

• 5–10 years of pertinent experience

• Active membership in a state bar association

• Exceptional legal writing and analytical capabilities

• Ability to work autonomously under general supervision and collaboratively within teams

• Commitment to enhancing an organization dedicated to continuously improving consumer experiences

• Experience in Medicare, Medicaid, or related regulatory fields

• Proven knowledge of Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage

• Proven understanding of healthcare provider operations

• Experience in mergers and acquisitions

• Familiarity with Medicare risk adjustment and associated billing and coding requirements

• Minimum home internet speeds of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload for remote or hybrid employees
